A Middle Kick is delivered swiftly and powerfully to your opponent’s ribs. For a Rear Middle Kick, go up on the ball of your lead foot and transfer your body weight forward. Turn your lead foot out to a 45 degree angle to allow for a big rotation. Throw out your rear leg in a firm kick towards your opponents outer ribs. The top of your foot should make contact with their body. To pivot, rotate your rear hip up and around as you aim, and remain on the ball of your lead foot throughout until your return to stance. A Lead Middle Kick will require a quick switch in stance. With your new lead leg, go up onto the ball of your foot, turning outwards, then kick out in a big circular motion with your rear leg. Your technique will remain the same as your Rear Middle Kick using the opposite leg. Use the top of your foot to powerfully strike your opponent’s ribs. Kick through and around!
