In boxing, staying in a solid stance is crucial to your performance; crossing your feet can compromise your balance. No matter which direction you move, the same rules apply: Push, step, drag. Starting in stance, start by moving forward. Push off your rear leg to step forward with your leading foot. Drag your rear foot to follow and and return to the original stance position. To move back, push from your lead leg and step back with your rear foot. Your lead foot will drag softly as you move backward and return to stance. Moving to the right, push off your leading leg to step with your rear foot. Push, step, drag. To return to the left, push off your rear foot and lead the step with your lead foot, dragging your rear foot lightly to return to stance. Stay on the balls of your feet, moving quickly and softly, holding your guard as you go!
